Run by Danny Bowen from Eaton, working across Norfolk and Suffolk since 2012. City & Guilds trained in carpentry and joinery, which is why the timber work is what customers mention first.
How Bowen’s started
Danny started the business in 2012, doing regular garden maintenance for a handful of customers around Norwich. Grass, hedges, borders, the everyday work that keeps a garden in order. About five years in, those same customers began asking for bigger jobs, and Bowen’s moved into garden clearances and then full landscaping. That is 14 years working on gardens in the same part of Norfolk.
Before any of it he went to college to study carpentry and joinery, always intending to put the trade into his own business. It is why the timber side of the work gets the attention it does. Decking, fencing, raised beds and steps are built as carpentry, not as garden features that only have to look right from a distance.
City & Guilds trained in carpentry and joinery
Danny studied wood occupations at West Kent College in 2007 and 2008, coming away with a Level 1 Foundation Construction Award, a Certificate of Unit Credit and an Intermediate Construction Award in site carpentry.
How we work
It is still a small team, which is deliberate. Danny is on site for the work rather than running a diary from an office, so the standard stays where he wants it and you always know who you are dealing with.
Most of our work comes from people recommending us to someone else in the same street or the same village. That only keeps happening if the last job was done properly and the garden was left tidy, which is a better incentive than any advertising.
