Garden fencing in Norwich
New fencing put up straight and set solid, plus repairs when the wind has taken a panel or a post has finally rotted through.
What fencing covers
Fencing looks straightforward and mostly comes down to two things: whether the posts are set deep enough and in enough concrete, and whether the run has been levelled properly rather than following every bump in the ground. Get those right and a fence lasts. Get them wrong and the first proper gale takes it out.
We fit overlap, featheredge and closeboard panels with either concrete or timber posts, take the old fence away, and can add gates or trellis at the same time.
Repairs as well as new runs
Not every fence needs replacing. If one post has snapped and the panels are sound, replacing that post is far cheaper than a new fence, and we are happy to come out for a single repair rather than pushing you into a bigger job.

Measure the run
We measure up, check where the boundary actually is, and look at what the ground is like for digging.

Agree materials and height
Panel type, post type and height, with a price per run. Concrete posts cost more up front and outlast timber by years.

Old fence out
The existing fence and posts come out, including concrete footings where they are in the way, and go on the van.

Posts set and panels fitted
Posts are concreted in and left to set, then panels and gravel boards go on, levelled along the run rather than following every dip.

Fencing questions people ask
01. Concrete posts or timber posts?
Concrete posts last far longer because nothing rots at ground level, which is where timber posts almost always fail. They cost more to start with and some people prefer the look of timber. For most gardens we would suggest concrete posts with gravel boards.
02. Whose fence is it?
Your deeds or title plan usually show which boundary you are responsible for. If it is not clear, it is worth a word with the neighbour before work starts. We can fit a fence entirely within your boundary if that is simpler.
03. How high can I go without permission?
Generally two metres for a rear garden fence, and one metre where it faces a road. If you want to go higher you may need permission from the council, so check first.
04. Can you just replace one panel?
Yes. Small repairs are worth doing and we are happy to do them, though if several posts are on their way out we will tell you honestly that a full run is better value.
05. How soon can you come after storm damage?
We try to get to storm damage quickly because an open boundary is a security and pet problem. Ring rather than emailing if it is urgent.
