Landscaping and gardening in Wymondham

Wymondham is about nine miles down the A11 from us. A market town with a good deal of older property, which makes for more interesting gardens than most.

Gardens in Wymondham

Wymondham has the kind of mixed housing that produces genuinely varied work. There are period properties near the Abbey and the Market Cross with walled or hedged gardens and old brick and flint boundaries. There are Victorian and inter-war houses with long back gardens. And there are modern estates around the edges of the town with everything still to do.

Older gardens tend to bring their own constraints. Boundary walls may be original and worth keeping rather than replacing. Levels have often shifted over a century, so a patio needs building to work with what is there instead of fighting it. That is slower work than laying slabs on a flat new-build plot, and it is worth doing properly.

Getting to you At nine miles, Wymondham is a straightforward run down the A11 for landscaping projects, patios, fencing and clearances. A job that runs a week or two justifies the drive in a way a half-hour grass cut does not, so regular maintenance rounds here depend on what else we have nearby. Ask and we will tell you straight.

Frequently asked questions

Questions from Wymondham customers

01. Our house is listed. Does that affect garden work?

It can. Listing and conservation area status mostly affect walls, outbuildings and anything attached to the property, rather than planting or a patio away from the house. If your boundary wall is original it is often worth repairing instead of replacing. We will flag anything that looks like it needs permission before we start, and point you at the council.

02. Will you take on regular grass cutting in Wymondham?

It depends on what else we have on nearby. Nine miles is a fair drive for a short visit, so we would rather be honest about it than take the work on and then let you down. Ring and ask, because it changes with the round.

03. Can you match a patio to an older property?

Often, and it usually looks better to choose something sympathetic than to chase an exact match. Reclaimed and riven stone sit more comfortably against old brick and flint than sawn porcelain does. Danny will bring samples and hold them against the house before you commit.
